Do we have to obey the law as 21st century Christians? Does the Mosaic law have any bearing on our lives today at all? Do Christians have to live righteously at all? Do we have to worry about judgment?

Matthew 5:17, and following
Jesus talks about the law, that He fulfilled it, and that His commands were a higher standard than the law!

Romans 2:25-26
Points: by acting in righteousness of the law, those who have not the law are a law to themselves

Romans 5:13
FP's will use this verse to say that there is no law and we have no responsibility to live right. But verse 12 says that sin was in the world from Adam onward, everyone has sinned.

Romans 3
Points:
Is there a law? YES. The law of faith.
Does faith make void the law? NO it establishes it.
Gentiles and Jews are justified the same by God.

Romans 11:11-24
Points: Gentiles were grafted into the "good olive tree" (Israel), and partake in the root and fatness thereof - the covenant

Hebrews 8:7-13, Jeremiah 31:31-37
Points: The old covenant was about to fade away in the first century, and Jesus established a new covenant with Israel at that time

Rev 22:12-16
points: Jesus commands to obey His commands, so that you gain rights to the Tree of Life and the City of god

John 3:16-21
God loved "ALL THE WORLD" or "All the COSMOS" - Jews and Gentiles - there is no distinction

EVERY CHRISTIAN SINCE THE TIME OF CHRIST HAS AGREED THAT YOU MUST LIVE RIGHTEOUSLY AND BELIEVE IN FAITH THAT CHRIST IS THE SON OF GOD. FAITH WITHOUT WORKS IS DEAD.
