Christ, your saviour, says that "he that believes on Him that sent me has everlasting life! We must be careful... if we get God wrong, we could be in danger of Hell!
John 5:24 (Jesus Christ speaking) "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life."
This confirms that Jesus Christ (your saviour) did not hesitate to quote passages with the "YHWH" name of God in them... and never once took time out to say, "Hey by the way this was not my Father, it was a different god."
The Scribes of the Septuagint knew the Tetragrammaton, and sometimes used it in their copying of the Septuagint for the name of God. Many versions of the Septuagint contain God's name as the Greek "Kurios" or "Lord." Many other versions kept the Tetragrammaton "יהוה" in Hebrew inside the Greek text, out of respect for the name of God. Others decided to use the Greek "Kurios" to make it more readable to the modern Greek of the day.
Marcion of Sinope was a heretic. He was denounced by Justin Martyr, Irenaeus and Tertullian. Irenaeus was a student of Polycarp, who was a student of the apostle John. So these Christians were alive in the first and second century, and knew what they were talking about because they knew the apostles' teachings and learned from those that walked with them.
Also of note... Marcion was the student of Cerdo, who was the student of the sorceror, Simon Magus.
This shows that Kabbalah, which was not practiced until almost 1,000 AD, could not have been the source of this alleged "corruption," as the theorists claim.
Jews around 100 BC began to practice “Nomina sacra” where they would use substitutions for the name of God YHWH. Like their current practice of using "Ha-Shem" or "the name" in place of God's name.
If this was added, or a corruption, replacing the name of God, or a complete corruption of the texts; wouldn't we have at least some texts or manuscripts with an alternative, uncorrupted record of the Scriptures? We do not. The obvious conclusion is because it does not exist. Though proponents of the theory say this is because the Vatican is hiding the texts.
Proponents of the theory try to re-interpret various Scriptures to "reveal" that Christ is saying that His Father is not the Old Testament God. However, this ignores the fact that if this heinous of a corruption was prevalent, that the saviour of mankind MUST take time to explain this horrifying error so that people could accept the true God. And, of course, nothing like this exists. There is no place where Christ takes any time to directly address the "false identity" of a spurious god in the Old Testament texts.
Therefore, those who believe this view MUST accept that their saviour is also a deceptive, uncaring trickster, who veils the most important messages so that those who would be saved must decipher the most obscure messages, reading between His words to discern the truth.
Not one book in the New Testament takes any time to expose this alleged "corruption" so that Christians can be saved from a lifetime of service to Satan. Not one.
The silence is deafening on this. However, the Church Fathers DID take time out to denounce Marcion, who along with Cerdo and Simon Magus are the only ones known in history to have taught this heresy.
