This is my response to the futurist of a preterist vs. futurist debate by Bruce Bennet and Michael Miano. We will talk about common arguments against a preterist or historical interpretation of Jesus prophecy and coming.

Michael Miano (preterist, Blue Point Bible Church http://www.bluepointbiblechurch.org/peace/)
Bruce Bennett (futurist, Word of Truth Church https://www.wotchurch.com/)

Origen, Maimonides, Eusebius, Josephus, Isaac Newton, Spurgeon (https://www.preteristarchive.com/StudyArchive/n/new-heavens-earth.html)

Our resurrected bodies are of a different flesh.
https://biblehub.com/kjvs/1_corinthians/15.htm

Christ WAS physical, but as we talked about in 1 Corinthians, the resurrected body is DIFFERENT than the pre-death body. Different properties. (https://biblehub.com/kjvs/1_corinthians/15.htm)

Olivet Discourse
But, where do you arbitrarily break up the discourse?
https://biblehub.com/kjvs/matthew/24.htm

https://biblehub.com/kjvs/luke/21.htm

Jesus turns kingdom over to the Father
(1 cor 15:22-24, https://biblehub.com/kjvs/1_corinthians/15.htm)

Where is a "partial" kingdom predicted? it cannot be inferred.

Summary
See the mental gymnastics that have to be performed for the pre-millennial viewpoint to hold up under the scrutiny of Scripture. It doesn't make clear sense. The pieces don't fit together.
- break up the Olivet Discourse
- insert thousands of years arbitrarily into prophecy
- make up 2 comings of Christ, just because He has a divine and human nature
- already but not yet kingdom
It saddens me that he feels that the preterist position gives him no hope for the future. I will do another video on this.
