Here we deconstruct Malcom Gladwell's take on the Bible history of the fight between David and Goliath. He has a few issues we need to discuss, so join me for a thorough thrashing of this video.

NOTE: After making this video, one of my commentors (samantha davis aka heavenly skys) found the verse about Goliath's shield-bearer that Malcom contorts into meaning that he had people helping him out onto the battlefield.

1 Sam 17:7 And the staff of his spear was like a weaver's beam; and his spear's head weighed six hundred shekels of iron: and one bearing a shield went before him.

Malcom's argument on this verse still holds NO weight, because (1) apart from the shield, Goliath was carrying a sword and a spear that was 20 feet long and the head of which weighed over 20 lbs by itself, and (2) shield-bearers were assigned to those who were considered the "greatest warriors" in the army - it was a sign of honor and respect for the warrior's might in battle. Gladwell really has no leg to stand on here... he wants you to think that Goliath's servants wheeled him out in a wheelchair. Makes ZERO sense.
